Strom Thurmond Federal Building

The Strom Thurmond Federal Building is located in Columbia, SC and houses the federal offices for the region. This 19-story building consists of six different roof levels.

The project consisted of the removal of the existing built up roof and the installation of a new torch-grade modified bitumen roofing.  Due to the poor soil conditions, it was not possible to install a tower crane.  It was our responsibility to assist the roofing contractor in developing an alternative method to access this building and install the roof without disrupting internal operations.

Additionally, we assisted in construction administration and provided periodic inspection during installation of the roofing materials.
